  • Benefits
    • Ensures that Internet usage is compliant with the company’s Internet usage policy
    • More available bandwidth for company critical tasks
    • Industry-leading technology offering comprehensive protection against malicious sites and inappropriate content
    • No software licenses needed
  • How it works
    • @SEAwebControl by Marlink is delivered as three predefined levels: Level 1, 2 and 3, where Level 3 is the most restrictive
    • These predefined levels ease the process of choosing the most suitable content filter for a vessel. In order to meet special requirements, tailored filters may be ordered at an additional cost
    • The vessel owner decides if all or just some of the Local Area Networks (LAN) on board should be routed through the @SEAwebControl server at the teleport
    • Separate LANs on board can easily be configured with different levels of filtering
    • If an attempt is made to access a restricted website from a computer on board a vessel where @SEAwebControl is enabled, the user will be redirected to a website powered by Marlink where information about the policy violation is given
    • Any unfiltered network is an open network, where there are no restrictions on web content or blocking of bandwidth consuming services
  • Content Filtering
  • Level 1: Appropriate for vessels that want to stop bandwidth consuming services, in addition to illegal and inappropriate material. Bandwidth consuming services includes BitTorrent, Kazaa, eDonkey, etc.

Level 2: In addition to Level 1, this profile prevents access to adult entertainment and further restrictions on inappropriate material.

Level 3: In addition to Level 2, this profile is the most restrictive allowing child appropriate material only. This profile is intended for vessels operating in areas with special restriction needs.
