Junior Data Center / Cloud System Engineer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cloud System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing systems and technologies within our hybrid data center. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure, supporting both internal and external systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
• Design and implement data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power systems, and cooling. On-Prem and AWS Cloud Services.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the data center infrastructure aligns with business needs and scalability.
• Collaborate on the planning and execution of data center projects, such as new data center deployments or infrastructure upgrades.
• System Administration:
• Administer and maintain Linux/Unix, Windows, Nutanix and virtualization systems (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox) across multiple data center locations.
• Perform system monitoring, upgrades, and patch management to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Manage virtual machines, physical servers, and other infrastructure components.
• Performance & Reliability Optimization:
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and disaster recovery processes.
• Conduct regular system health checks, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis to address performance issues.
• Implement capacity planning and ensure data center resources are adequately provisioned.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure data center infrastructure meets security best practices and complies with industry standards and regulations.
• Work with security teams to manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security protocols.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply necessary security patches.
• Backup & Recovery:
• Design and manage data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure minimal downtime in case of outages.
• Automation & Scripting:
• Create and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Python.
• Implement configuration management best practices to streamline the deployment and maintenance of systems.
• Collaboration & Support:
• Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other teams to resolve cross-team issues.
• Provide escalation support for critical incidents and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides for internal teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:

• Beginner accepted .
• Experience with server hardware, virtualization platforms, and network devices.
• Hands-on experience with data center management tools, monitoring platforms, and automation tools.

Skills:

• Proficiency in system administration for Linux (Ubuntu LTS) or Windows Server
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
