Globally, we are investing in a team of Key Account / Area Sales Managers’ whose mission is to maintain, upsell and cross clients as well as acquire new clients within the maritime market. The Key Account Manager reports to the Sales Director of the areas.

Your Mission

As Key Account Manager/ Area Sales Manager, you will:

  • Maintain, upsell and cross sell clients, securing recurring revenue from existing services and new services and capturing new clients within the area in the maritime segment
  • Open new opportunities within existing and new accounts in the area by leveraging market demand for secure managed network solutions, cybersecurity, IoT data capture and ICT
  • Use a structured sales planning process to engage the global Marlink organization in growing and capturing new business.
  • Secure continuous customers satisfactions

Main Tasks

Responsible for revenue growth and achieve sales targets by developing and executing own effective sales strategies, aligned with the overall business objectives.

  • Maintain, upsell and cross sell clients
  • Identify potential new opportunities within customers and with new customers in the area
  • With the support of the Marlink team, develop and execute a strategy to capture each qualified opportunity
  • Travel within the area for customer-facing meetings
  • Deliver sales proposals and negotiate commercial contracts, signing and securing recurring revenues
  • Provide market, customer and competitive information to the Marlink organization to support further development of the Marlink Product and Services Portfolio

  • Collaboration and cross functional ability to work smoothly with Marketing, Product, Pricing, Pre-Sales, Finance and Operations. Build consensus while defend the needs of the Sales function
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working autonomously
  • Actively shares information and knowledge within the organization
  • Can effectively engage with clients & colleagues from different business cultures in different time zones

Qualifications & Professional skills

  • Proven experience maintaining and growing business as well as capturing new market share in a competitive MSP ICT environment, ideally within a managed service provider or systems integrator
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry would be positive but not essential
  • Consultative selling approach with proven experience in liaising with c-level decision makers
  • An Engineering educational background and a university degree is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a good command of written and spoken English and German. Other language of the area can be an asset
  • In possession of a valid passport and driver’s license. Flexibility to travel within the region and beyond
  • Ideally living in one of our key offices in the region. You must be eligible to live and work in the region to apply
