Network and Cybersecurity Designer

Your Mission

As a multi-skilled Network and Cybersecurity Engineer within our “product” team, your role will be to design the network and cybersecurity layer of Marlink’s Fortinet-based “1Edge” customer service platform. The goal of this platform is to empower business units with a simple, versatile, flexible and effective standard tool to address their customer’s needs.

Working within the Transversal Platform Development team, you will play a pivotal role in the solution development lifecycle, from assessing requirements with internal and external customers to designing, scripting, integrating and ensuring the continuous delivery of the solution within its ecosystem.

You will design the networking and security services architecture and templates of the solution. In collaboration with the Business, you will work on improving the range and flexibility of the product while keeping the provisioning processes and deployments as simple as possible.

 

Main Tasks

• Take part in the agile project of the 1Edge product. Assume “Product Owner” role for the Fortinet subsystem of the solution.
• Take part in the development of configuration templates as per requirements from Product Committee and business units
• Build labs to validate and demonstrate development
• Administrate the Fortinet management systems and oversee delegated administrative domains
• Document template production and customization processes within the boundaries of the solution’s ecosystem, to hand over to business units engineering users.
• Improve the service platforms capability by implementing a wider range of services provided by the vendor.
• Provide support to business units engineering team.

 

Qualifications & Professional skills

• Master’s degree in engineering, Computing Sciences
• Strong knowledge and experience of IP networks
• Strong and proven experience with Fortinet products: FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer (certification a plus)
• Good and proven project management skills. Previous work experience in agile teams would be a plus, although not mandatory.
• Familiarity with REST API concepts, with Jinja syntax.
• Familiarity with project management and documentation tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Familiarity with virtualized environments is a plus.
• Ability and appetite to build labs, test solutions, investigate and resolve issues, document. An experience with scripting languages would be a plus.
• Fluent English with good writing and presentation skills
