Marlink wins MSUA’s 2022 Mobile User Experience Innovation Award
Marlink has won the 2022 Mobile User Experience Innovation Award at the 30th Annual Mobile Satellite Users Association’s (MSUA) Satellite Mobile Innovation event.
25.03.2022 – This award recognises our Smart Network standalone solution that supports digitalisation with our hybrid network encompassing GEO, LEO, MEO, 4/5G and WiFi into one seamless service.
Tore Morten Olsen, President Maritime, Marlink, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the company during the SATELLITE 2022 tradeshow in Washington, DC and commented:
Consistent connectivity designed for the challenges of digitalisation does not come from a single satellite provider alone. It requires a combination of satellite and terrestrial carriers across multiple frequencies and beams, a service provider with an extensive ground-based backbone, a network optimised for use with hardware and software to provide certainty and quality that the shipping industry needs. As shipping continues to advance on its journey of digitalisation, our solutions will be increasingly important for customers to engage in a more meaningful way with smarter, more efficient and greener shipping.
To further enhance our Smart Network solution, Marlink has recently announced important new partnerships.
- Marlink has joined forces with LEO satellite communications company OneWeb to bring OneWeb’s high-speed, low latency connectivity to Marlink customers in the maritime, energy, enterprise and humanitarian sectors.
- Marlink has also enhanced its long-term partnership with satellite operator SES to enable Marlink customers to access SES’s next-generation MEO constellation, O3b mPOWER.
- Marlink has extended its partnership with Intelsat to offer increased Ku and C-band satellite connectivity to maritime customers in cruise and merchant shipping sectors.
- Marlink has extended its partnership with satellite operator Eutelsat to support expansion in Africa and the Middle East and to integrate the Americas and Asia into the portfolio of Eutelsat satellite capacity used by Marlink.
